Protect Your Classic Car

Against Theft

NEW Alarm System & Remote  Kill Switch

In December of 2016 I began work on a new design for an anti theft car alarm specifically designed to be used in classic cars.

Primarily, it had to be designed to operate on any vehicle, 6 or 12 volts, positive or negative ground, and definitely had to incorporate an engine kill switch.  But above all, it had to be simple, uncomplicated and easy to install. No multiple page installation instructions in 6 different languages. It also had to be able to be installed and operate on motorcycles or any other piece of mobile equipment, (ATV, or off season recreational machines)  that was prone to theft. It had to be able to accept custom optional add-on modules such as remote control key fob, acceleration, vibration or shock sensors, engine oil pressure loss and engine overheat conditions, or even a rain sensor for convertibles. By early spring, the first prototype alarm was finally in the testing stage, over the following months changes and modifications were developed to the point it is at now.  All summer long, it was demonstrated at car shows from southern Ontario to southern BC. It has been well tested and evaluated by car guys over the summer and has now been in production since Sept 2018.

Vintage Radio Service & Electronics

Zero Volt Alarm & Monitor System

Overview

This system, by Vintage Radio Service & Electronics, was almost 2 years in the design, build and test phase, and was originally conceived for use in vintage Classic Cars.

It utilizes neodymium magnetic mounts and requires no drilling of holes to mount the unit. Also and foremost, because of the prolonged storage and sparse use of Classics, it uses zero battery current while in “Armed Mode.”  Once a door is opened however, power is only then supplied to the system and is automatically in Activated mode. If the key fob button is not pressed within 12 – 15 seconds, the unit is automatically in Alarm Mode and a 120db siren is activated.  At the same time, an internal relay energises and the ignition system is completely disabled, rendering the engine inoperable. Even if the wires are yanked off the unit, and pulled apart, the engine is still unable to be started.

For those that remove the battery from their vehicles for winter storage, the unit will protect your vehicle for a full year or more on 8 AA batteries. (12 volts) Batteries and clip not included.

Base model: Key fob remotely actuated theft alarm operates on either 6 or 12 volts, positive or negative ground systems. It has a 12 second delay for entry and exit and an instantaneous connection for monitoring engine oil pressure and overheat conditions. Can also secure the hood or any other expensive items you can connect a switch to. It employs a small 105db @ 100cm. siren that draws only 150 mA.

The magnetic mount requires no drilling or modifications to your dash. With this method the unit can be fastened under or on the dash.

For added security, there are no markings on the unit indicating its function as an alarm system. When activated, the siren sounds and an internal relay simultaneously cuts the circuit to the ignition system, effectively killing the engine. Even if the wires are pulled from the unit, the engine will not start.

Available options: "Internal Power Option" can be used on ATV's,  snowmobiles, mountain bikes, etc.  For motorcycle installation request the "Bike Option" An  overheat kit can be purchased separately.  These features must be requested at time of ordering.

Retail Price for the base unit with Oil Pressure Shut Down monitor is $249.95 cdn.

Add on Kit for overheat $25.00.  plus S&H if ordered separately.

A remote controlled version will be available by end of December 2017.

Our new Wireless Kill Switch can prevent thieves from stealing your car. The switch works by cutting power to the ignition inside the distributor or by cutting power to the fuel pump. It has no entry alarm system, It simply disables the ignition at the push of a button on the remote key fob.

The security of the unit is encrypted by a key fob using a unique key code and the thieves won’t be able to start the car without the key fob. It will not even be possible to hotwire the system to start it. Mounting the system can be accomplished by the use of double sided mastic or fastening under the dash which eliminates any  drilling or permanent modifications to your dashboard. Easy to install and out of sight,  your car will remain secure.
